I kind of liked the boom lifts, even though I'd say I'm 'scared of heights' in a general way. They were more fun than the 'scissors'.
The strange thing was that at this same time you couldn't get me to fly in an airplane if my life depended on it!
I also, and still can't, climb up a ladder more than about six feet before my knees turn to jelly.

 

This is a cicada hawk. They do gnarly things to cicadas.

I like the way they sound. My old house was on 6 acres in a pretty forested area and I'd get quite a few. Definitely not as many as some areas though. They used to leave their shells all over the evergreens and apple trees. They're kind of cool. I also can't sleep without crickets chirping on Alexa and Google Play all night throughout the house though.

150% same. But give me a boom lift, and I'll take that damn thing places it was never, ever designed to go. I once drove one down the street in Tupelo, MS going from the Goodyear plant to their warehouse where they'd put a crate of parts up in the rafters.And it was Sunday, so no rental places were open, so we couldn't rent a trailer. So screw it. We had two forklifts and a boom-lift in a convoy, driven by 3 very hungover welders/millwrights, cruising down the street.
