Woke up around midnight cause Skeet was pacing, stumbled across the house in the dark to let him out to pee, but something seemed...off.

Then I hear Scraggles growling, then I see the cats in some sort of murder circle and shine my phone at them....Scraggles, my deaf and mostly toothless old cat, is holding a mouse in his mouth while Bearnie is jumping around with blood on his face like a crazed murderer. Skeeter didn't have to pee, he wanted a shot at the mouse incapicitated and gave to the others (he does this a lot with bugs and such, probably because he thinks the others are idiots who need to learn to hunt lol). We manage to get the mouse from them and clean them off, and Bearnie spends hours prowling the house in search of any more invaders. I had just been reading on my nextdoor about the neighbors having bad mouse problems this year & we periodically have to de-worm Bearnie and only , so we knew he was catching SOMETHING but we've never actually seen a rodent or any evidence of one in the entire 5+ years he's been around.

Well, that answers the recent hypothetical of what would happen if a squirrel got into the house.
