06/01 - Moon Monday

I thought I picked out a nice, chill hike yesterday at a high-ish elevation with a lot of wind and a high of like 70. Oh, a haha haha, wrong. Got sunburned on the side of my hands cause the sun was ridiculous and there was no cloud coverage at a high elevation yesterday, and oh yeah, turns out the trail was totally grown over because of the excess rain and lack of thru hikers this year...which has caused a fricken swarm of grasshoppers that were jumping in my hair and bouncing off my face while I desperately tried to avoid stepping on a snake too many miles into my hike to turn back.TIL grasshoppers are closely related to locusts and experience collective motion where they swarm and destroy crops and vegetation. They specifically really like mid 70s weather and clear skies, apparently!
