I get the blushing and getting a bit red from wind burn but not from spicy food or hot(temperature) foods. Sounds like rosacea to me! Good luck with that!

I've been trying to bust my adult acne whilst we are socially distant, and 9 weeks later, the derm was like, "Well, I think I know why things have only been helping a little bit!" I cleared up for weeks and then all of sudden, while still in the middle of treatment, I broke out in tons of red splotches and bumps again and I cried, thinking my acne was just THAT resilient (as this is the fourth course of treatment in like 6 years?!), only for it to turn out I've got splotchy lady skin no-no on top of the face of a teenager The bot said, "You blush like someone out of a romance novel, I just assumed you knew that wasn't normal!"

Honestly, I feel better now, at least things make sense. With all the other health stuff, worrying about my rashy skin was kinda far down the line

 

I know it sounds strange and it might not work. I had huge acne issues but doesn't sound as bad as yours. I use an apricot scrub in the shower while steaming my face. I use a new clean cloth/towel on my pillow every night. and once to twice a week I slather my face in fresh coconut oil. Then the next morning I use a very gentle face wash to take off the extra oil that's still there. I used to have a really REALLY oily face but this has really cleared it up for me.

That is my normal but I'm p sure I've got rosacea too so we can suffer together?

 

It's normal. I developed rosacea in my 30's. I'm 49 now. Some things make it better or worse. (DM me if you want my list )

I've been accused of blushing, or being embarrassed before just during warm weather, or having tea, or at events just sitting and talking to people. You never really know when it will happen.

Rosacea is a real thing and I NOW usually use make-up (hypoallergenic) to take the red down a notch (because you don't know when) - even for zoom calls.

Honestly I hadn't even thought to do that as I NEVER wear make up - but my Aunt gave me some tips - because she has the same thing. So, in my late 40's, I just copied what she used and it helped. It actually also cooled down my skin so that was a nice side-effect.

Day to day - I just expect the flushing but if I'm in public or on a zoom I resort to knocking it back some.

 

Thanks! I've so far been thru accutane, doxycycline, retin-a, steriods, clindamycin....etc etc etc. The newest combo helped somewhat and I use fancy satin pillowcases cause they're supposed to be better than cotton and such. It's much better now than it used to be, but I was frustrated when I'd just turn red for weeks at a time and get weird little bumps. I told the derm I didn't wanna hit 30 and still look like a teenager
