All, as a requester, what are some of the best ways to ensure that my survey is receiving peak visibility within your community? Is there a way for me to refresh my survey while allowing it to remain active within the MTurk platform? I've noticed that my survey receives a ton of traction initially with activity trailing off over time. As of now, average time of completion for qualified participants is ~12 minutes with a payout of $2.00. Thank you in advance!

Is my math off? That's like $5/hr, but I'm bad at math. People tend to not want to do hits that pay $5/hr, though.

I'd say no one wants to work for $10/hr, either, but folks still fill out Walmart applications, so...

 

Past paying more, which could always be a choice moving forward, anything else that I can do? Not all of us are representing corporations with deep pockets, but I can definitely sympathize.

Well, if you're looking for more engagement without our community - you have to understand that one of the main features of this community is a review system that allows us to share our survey experiences with others. When the survey sucks - we tend to share as a warning to others. When the survey is "good", we'll share as a way to help one another.

With all that in mind - if you want the most engagement - the survey should be "good" - and as turkers - we rate "good" on the basis of the surveys pay.

Pay how ever much you would be being paid an hour for your time. If you would turn your nose up to it because it's not 'worth the money for that time' then raise your wages.

 

Also, "Not all of us are representing corporations with deep pockets" kinda pisses me off. If you can't afford to do it, don't do it.
