I mean, you're going to take them all out anyway when you start washing the dishes anyway? It's like skipping the "nasty food you have to clean out of the sink before you fill it up" step.

We have a double sink. Dirty dishes go in the left hand side, I wash things or soak things in the right side. Matt is too lazy to put his dirty dishes in the sink, so he leaves them on the counter or on the table where the cats or dogs end up licking them..ugh.

He's too lazy to take the three extra steps when I do all the dishes! BAH! BAH, I SAY!

 

The other side is where the clean dishes go when you're done washing them, though?

Seriously, you wash them in one side, then rinse them off in the other and then you stack them there because you're too lazy to use the dish drying thingy that you also refuse to clean because that ain't in the job description.

 

Dishes go on the counter till you're ready, then you transfer them to the dishwasher and wash the pots and pans and let them dry on the counter on a hand towel. Once dry, you put them away. You then use the plates straight from the clean dishwasher and let the dirty ones on the counter and repeat the cycle. Sorry I'm not bourgeois enough to have a double sink!

I mean, it's not a fancy sink...and my landlord has refused to replace the dishwasher for like 8 months now I live in a ratty ass desert rental that is constantly falling apart. I just do all the cooking and the dish washing, have 8 pets who will take things off the counter, and like a clean kitchen! I don't actually think it's crazy to want Matt to put his dirty plates in the sink when he's done, so I don't have to also be his personal maid that walks around the house collecting dirty dishes.



Sink can fit one angry cat, tho
