My son too...omg. Well and xbox lol

 

They're my step children...my wife got married at 17...so...

 

I don't care if you wanna use social media, but it shouldn't all you do. That's where my issue is, looking at snapchat is not a hobby.

 

I feel like I got lucky here. My kid abhors social media because of all the negative he has seen about it regarding teens and tweens. He just opted to never have one.

We have an insta for the scarves he makes and sells and while the content is him and his scarves, I'm the run that runs that, too, lol. He wants nothing to do with an online presence except email and a youtube account.

I make him go for walks and come outside with me which luckily he likes to do. He's literally defiant about everything else though lol.

 

I'd be happy if she wanted to play a video game, at least that requires interaction but nope not into that.

 

My teen recently got back into comic books. I got him an online Marvel subscription and then he ordered a bunch of physical DC with birthday money.

I was getting ready to watch The Watchmen when he told me no, he wants to watch it with me but first I have to read all the comics. So now, apparently, I am into comic books, too. I have to read all the Watchmen comics before I'm allowed to watch the show!

(And he recently made me read a Batman but mostly because it was about Jack the Ripper and he thought I'd enjoy that one, lol.)

 

See I dig comics, I own a bunch and I have a ton of memorabila, so of course my kids aren't into it.

 

I don't mind them, just gotta have downtime when I'm not crocheting so I can read, lol!

I did manage to get my kid into yarn arts along with me. Helps that he makes good $$ selling his scarves but we both use a lot of yarn!

 

My daughter would rather wonder into the living room on Sunday afternoon and basically Grinch that I'm watching football because "this is stupid and boring" even though you know there is a tv in her room and I didn't ask her to watch the game, I get that instead.

 

You are an excellent birth control, you know that?

 

Oh I'm sure, teenagers are like the worst man. They have these horrible attitudes, they are lazy, they want adult privileges with child responsibilities and they generally don't smell good either.

 

Not all are that bad! My teen is fun to be around, and look, we're reading comics together, lol.

Though, there is a smell. That I'll give ya. Teen boys can be --um-- aromatic even with good grooming habits. Just sleeping can be a stinky activity for them.

 

LOL, my son isn't as bad, his biggest detriment is he is extremely argumentative so my wife wants to smack him constantly.

 

And my oldest girl (27) and the youngest girl (17) just both sent me birthday gifts in the last two days and they were thoughtful and wonderful and perfect for me.

Kids are great!!!
