I so feel this.

While I don't snap back at people usually, the year after my daughter died I had just seen a horror movie and was walking out of the theater (I don't like horror movies but in those first couple of years I watched a lot of them). As I passed a gentleman he said, "Smile! Things aren't that bad!" and I was feeling so low and grieving so hard I looked up and snapped, "Yeah. They fucking are. My daughter died 8 months ago so pardon me if I'm not smiling. I just finished watching a horror movie so I could feel BETTER!"

That was rude for me to do, he had no clue that my kid was dead, but I admit that felt good to finally tell someone to stop telling me to smile.

To his credit he apologized and told me he hoped my day gets easier. I felt guilty and cruddy after doing that (as I should have) and I've never done that again...(but still, it felt good that one time, lol!)

 

I'm still peeved about that guy who stopped me to say, "I can't tell if you're smiling at me or not from under the mask."

NOPE! I'm not. Go away. I literally never want to be hit on while food shopping. Go. Away.

 

The last concert I went to was Sleep on 12/30, the next one was going to be either The Sword, Rammstein, or the Deftones (at this point I don't remember which dates were which shows). I'm nowhere near ready for concerts to return, but dang do I miss them.

 

I haven't been to a show since last summer

 

I'm an ambivert, so this whole thing has me completely out of wack. One minute I'm considering going to a bar and next I'm boarding up the house to protect my tp and disinfecting wipe stash.

I could probably make it if I just had hockey and maybe went to the taproom for one beer and a fill. Like 20 minutes in and out.
