I know you have mentioned your tribe before, are there tribal shelters in your area to evacuate to?

We have some some federally protected lands here that are also "partially recognized" and super hard to evacuate as they are so remote.

Thank you! Unfortunately tribal governments can be just as corrupt as any other. Our chairman refused to let our tribal recreation buildings be used as shelters. We used schools mostly and church recreation buildings. Schools were out and used as shelters for a couple of months. It’s a very rural area and lots of people were trapped down their dirt roads for weeks having to get food boated in.

Totally understand that the tribes can be corrupt as well and I'm sorry that happened with your chairman refusing shelter. That's awful.

It's really tough in remote, rural areas to sort it all out.

I am glad that you are safe and hoping the folks that are struggling in your area get some relief.
