I call him Matt-bot, tho, cause he's very single-minded, mechanically inclined, and not much for emotions

He will just peace out of situations if he feels like it, so I always make robot sounds and say, "BEE BOOP, THE BOT MUST [insert activity here]."

Spoiler: Bee Boop, the bot must play flight sims in the middle of a housewarming party...not his house

 

To be fair, I would probably also rather play Flight Simulator than be at a house party.

Wow, I can relate. Except I'd still be smashed by the end of the night and wake up in a field somewhere.

 

My favorite was this one time we were all at the climbing gym together. It's part workout, part social, people share passes, and we get korean bbq afterwards. The bot just cruises by when one of his friends tries to talk to him and immediately starts climbing again. I hollered out, "BEE BOOP, MATT-BOT MUST CLIMB!"

He turns around, partway up the wall, and just gives me the most withering stare ever

He approves of this nickname tho, because he has a strict rule that someone can only ever call him a nickname if it is unique to him and makes sense to him.

 

My pancreas is certainly not

 

I usually just stay home and tell everyone I'm sick. It's a great excuse, since it's often true If I'm feeling charitable, someone else gets a pass by insisting they must take care of me. Win-win!
