I'm an introvert at heart, I can relate to that too...but if you can convince me to go outside and get a couple drinks in me it's all over, even if it starts with me playing a Flight Sim in the corner

 

My doctor say "in theory," I can have a very small glass of wine "on occasion."

I still haven't tested that theory for...so many reasons.

 

My pancreas and my liver are the only thing holding me back from continuing my career as an Olympic-level competitive drinker. Sometimes I resent them, sometimes I'm grateful

Haha that's what I was until I wasn't. I still drink on occasion (don't tell my GI doc lol) but you're really not supposed to at all once that chronic pancreatitis verdict gets handed down. It rejects with a very hard NO if you cross any lines, which is prolly for the best for me anyways

Yeah, don't tell mine and I won't tell yours lmao. My second time in the hospital with alcohol withdrawal and critical condition for grand mal seizures was the decline of my career. After that it was either get my shit together or never enjoy whiskey ever again. I can still dabble, for now, but like you said if I don't walk that line with care oh boy do I pay for it...

Meanwhile, just ONCE, I would like a normal reason for a normal health problem, that didn't result in a conversation where 8 doctors all sit down to explain I have shit for luck and would I mind if all these doctors asked me questions and poked me with various needles to see why I'm so janky

Is it so much to ask that something happens that isn't either labeled idiopathic or has like 10, completely insane and unlikely theories with question marks? Just waiting for the day a doctor strolls in, all like, "Great news! You farted your kidney out after it exploded into 16 parts, but you seem mostly fine! We think it was maybe your electrolyte imbalance? Here, have some salt! We're pretty sure that's gonna help!"
