I had a gen 1 Pi, worked surprisingly well running as a HTPC. Didn't have any issues playing back 1080p.

 

My whole setup is overkill for my needs but i got an i5-4590 and a H81M-Plus for free and I'm getting that 380 for free so might as well use it all for something.

Is anyone else having forum issues using Chrome today? I had weird replying issues, and then my replies started getting saved in my quick reply box, and so I logged out, shut down chrome, cleared out the cache and now when I try to login it's just giving the spinning lines at the top right and I can't login. I've had to resort to using FF... blech. But it at least let me log in.

Edit: And didn't save this reply in my quick reply box. I bet some script is messing it up.

just caught this. here's hoping it doesn't suck!

 

Bar none. The set top box for home theater use is the Nvidia Shield. Way better then a Pi. Handles game emulation up to the PS2 and does everything else. Runs Kodi like a champ and Plex is built in. Coupled with a HDHomerun it's a full blown DVR. Also supports the high res versions of all the video services like Netflix and PRime.
