Fellow Turkernators,

Have any of you ever encountered the following with Requestors (happened to me at least 4 times now)?

The HIT you're working on times out on you for whatever reasons (my internet connection was acting up), so you obviously can NOT submit it. You finish the survey and send them a message explaining the situation with the code. They then respond back with a "thanks for the message, I'll be sure to approve your HIT!", or simply "I just approved it", or finally like the one I just got - "I went ahead and issued payment!".

I'm left dumbfounded and scratching my head at these statements. I SPECIFICALLY mentioned I wasn't able to submit so they would know there's nothing for them to approve! (nor have I done any prior HIT's of theirs they could use to send me a bonus with) This is the reason I always mention a possible make-up/compensation HIT.

So what the heck and they 'approving' or how are they 'issuing payments' to an unsubmitted HIT?!? They obviously think they're doing something, but it certainly isn't showing up on my end!

I really don't want to write back trying to explain things in more detail...it's cold, rainy/dreary and I'm currently in 'meh-mode'. It was for $3.75 though, so it's not one I'll be too happy to just let slide and say 'forget it' as I've done before.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

They're probably, for one reason or another, just getting a ton of messages from workers about a different topic (no survey code, worker submitted before timer ran out and then later finished survey, etc) and copy/pasting the same reply or on autopilot responding.

Can probably just reply with the gentle nudge to recheck the original message or let them know it requires further action on their end.
