When I felt like having a kid I got a dog, best decision ever

 

this is very true. My lovely, beautiful, smart, sweet, precocious, strong willed, very advanced for his age of three son of mine would 100% do damage to fucking everything if given a real hammer

 

I go and by new plants! We got a poinsettia a while back and I love it so much! I keep telling my husband that I really really want a christmas cactus

I can only imagine the holes in every single wall at toddler height.

Someone two years older than me was "babysitting" me once and we did gymnastics in her living room where I did back handsprings off of a couch until I fell square on my neck and knocked myself unconscious. Woke up at least an hour later to said "babysitter" in the other room cooking mac and cheese, but she was kind enough to put a pillow under my head (after... I ... was.. unconscious...) and a puke bowl next to me.

tldr there's definitely a limit to "try it, see what happens, won't kill ya"

That's true, my dad was a proponent of, "go ahead, touch that fire, I guarantee you'll only do it once." And he wasn't wrong. And I didn't die, besides probably that night with the terrible babysitter.

 

I need to get myself a babysitter too.
