Why on Earth would a 20-something be scared of death??? Does anyone here at all remember being 20?

Look, I wear an N95 any time I make a real-world excursion, skipped family Christmas, and don't travel for events nor have I dined indoors since 2019 - which may be my most prized creature comfort in life.

I also don't give half a shit if/when I get COVID. The measures are a simple courtesy to my fellow 'MURICANS, the overwhelming majority of whom are at far more risk of poisoning themselves with sugar, alcohol, et al various vices than COVID. I prefer not to accidentally contribute to murdering someone's granny so I'm down with the cause, but holy hell COVID at this point is indistinguishable from politics. Loud mouthed extremists at both ends who've just completely abandoned their own brains.

I totally understand why someone who is at-risk or just generally cares about their own health/fellow brohumans could be prickly about the issue. But if they can't simultaneously look at a 20 year old and fully understand why they want to be able to go to class, their local watering hole, etc then they've just straight up abandoned the humanity that would warrant any sort of consideration from that 20 some-odd.
