I might want to go get a covid test in the next few days but the covid test place websites say don't get the test there if you are having symptoms of covid. thanks that's helpful and makes all kinds of sense.

My friend shared a smoking device with someone who turned out to be covid positive. They wont test him because he ISNT showing any symptoms.

 

but I feel sick so the internet says don't go to the testing places to get tested. I tried calling walgreens because they test for it. I got yelled at to check their website, which had no useful information.

 

Your state health dept is likely to be the most useful resource if I had to blind shot in the dark guess I'd prob go through them.. I think this is right?

TY!!! I checked these and everything I already checked. 1 of the websites finally says they are testing people with symptoms now. it looks like a huge mess to get in anywhere. "pre-registration with no appointment needed every day or on wednesdays only or every day but only from 9:00 am - 10:00 am" or "Testing will be available at no cost to eligible individuals who meet criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) along with state and federal guidelines. " I don't know what that means and am not a CDC expert thx bye

Man... I'm really sorry. It feels kinda silly to just hope that you feel better, but I do.

 

If you have a primary care doc they can definitely send you to a correct endpoint with a little more guidance over phone, but honestly even if you get the test there's not really anything they're going to do for you anyway.

The guidelines for the free test is just beaurocracy so people don't roll up to open testing sites every single day like idiots. If you have symptoms or a traceable exposure that's basically good to go.. technically, because YMMV when paperwork & money are involved lol.

Do you have labcorp in your state? You can get an at-home test through them now but if you don't have the PCP you have to pay for it :/
