    "Unless you sell for a loss."

    Then you are deducting up to (usually) $1,500 (so 3k with two people in the household filing jointly) - this is full accountant territory. (But you're probably going to get a 1099-B - even for small sales so it's pretty easy to report.)

    Day 1 of conferences is done! I expected not great one, one not expected (both of his teacher's seem pretty confident he can fix the not great stuff). He hates doing stuff that he considers "fluff" which is part of the problem, especially when he's not in school full time to enforce that he has to do the stuff he thinks is "dumb". Better than 5 really bad ones earlier, so I'll take it (even with 2 more today he can't beat his "bad conference record". Also, on a related note, I ate all the cake yesterday.
