Judging from the thread, I think we're all a little Dale Cooper this week.

    1. 500/month. Includes rent, utilities, car and food. Me and the wifu share the expenses so double that for a monthly couples expenses.
    2. It helped me a lot since I didn't have a job and I needed to pay rent. I left my home 4 years ago and I really didn't wanted to go back. Then I asked the wifu to move in with me. She agreed with my madness and now we've been living together for 3 years. Now we both have IRL jobs but we turk on the side.
    3. Learn to cook. It has helped me a lot when saving money.

I agree. I cash out of Mturk and AMP every day. Even on the weekends. I don't trust Amazon at all.

I'm happy for you guys, really I am, but all these "how much I've made this week/day" posts usually depress me. I just can't seem to make that much.. think I'm somehow missing all the good stuff.

Granted, I don't devote eight hours a day to this, but still... it's not like doing nothing.

You know, we should have like a budget recipe thread. I know we have the show your food one, but recently someone was asking about cooking ideas - man, I wish I could remember... was it @Anath614 ? Anyway, most of us have been mentioning cooking at home is part of our saving money so maybe we can share our cheap-o meals.

I'll go figure out here to make a thread lol

1). Much more than any have posted thus far - but will be explained better in #3.
2). Turking has helped, yes. I use to be a high value inspector for several major insurance carriers. The running was getting out of hand, so I scaled back and took an at home position with one of the companies. I, too, work 40/50 hours per week while Turking on the side and once a year, I go with a locksmith to branches of a large bank and we open safety deposit boxes. I inventory the contents if any is found. Probably my favorite job to date. The cut in funds precluded us from some of the extras the children needed. The monies I make turking generally go for the "extras".
3). My savings advice is buy real estate - we own several rental properties as well as two vacation homes. We purchased low and do much of the work ourselves. I sat down with a lawyer and learned the ropes as far as collecting rents and taking tenants to court.

Still baby change compared to what some of you guys are bringing in BUT working 40+ a week in office and being able to pull this makes me super happy. :D
Also I think I am going to start changing my goal from at least $20 a day to the amount of bills I wanna get covered in a week. That keeps me super motivated. :3 Yay Goals!

That's kind of similar to my husband's career path. He managed to go from college dropout for doing something dumb -> typical minimum wage clerk -> extremely low level job at Samsung -> 3-4 job changes in 3 years -> makes almost double what I did with a Master's degree. College isn't the only way to get a decent job, you can teach yourself the right skills in the right market. We happen to live geographically in a market that has a lot of opportunity for IT work.

I will say that his most recent pay increase is because he got his Bachelor's. He did it online at a self-paced fully accredited college called WGU. I'd recommend looking into it if anyone needs a degree but can't do traditional college hours. It's really meant for people who have a job but need a degree to advance their career and it gets rid of most of the traditional university BS. I went to the graduation ceremony and I think the average age was like 33, lol. It was pretty interesting compared to traditional universities.

lol I don't google as much as you'd think. Our team is pretty diverse and we're all good at something. We lean on each other and learn from each other a lot. Probably the most stuff I google if someone isn't available at work is SQL. I wish I knew more about it. edx has some courses I want to take on it.

Don't feel bad... a lot of us are on for 10+ hrs every day and it takes some good quals and intense dedication to make more than $100 a week sometimes. You'll get there! Just keep a watch out for quals and awesome batches and always have your PANDAs running!

I am actually about to start at WGU because I want to get an HIM BS to go with my CIS and get certified for Medical Coding so I can sit at home instead of a 45 minute commute both ways -_-.
That's awesome he finished up there. :D
Makes me feel a bit better about not wanting to go back to a traditional university.

Honestly I didn't start making much until I hit 5k in hits.
That's at the point I started getting better batches and being able to figure out which hits worked the best for me.
That and I learned how to take advantage of my pandas.

We need a GIF now of @ChrisTurk 's face on Lena Heady's body during that sc- wait, no I don't want that.

Also fun fact, that wasn't her body cuz she's pretty covered in tattoos apparently. CGI/VFX on that show is insane.
