    I def think it depends on how their anxiety affects them.

    I'd 100% rather say "hello" to a person and let them do everything than deal with not being able to find the cucumber on the vegetable list or forget to scan something or... or or orrrr anything else that would bring attention to myself while i'm standing there just trying to live lmao

    Every experience I had as a tourist was crass. Tried shoving politics down my face when I answered where I was from without me inviting it into the conversation. I told each and everyone of those bastards how I felt about their unwanted convo.

    Seriously, you can swipe the card the second the first item is rung up, and then you have all the time in the world to put it back in your wallet, get it situated, and be ready to grab your receipt and move the second the transaction is done.

    Nail on the head. Branson was the worse offender. Springfield had it's gems too.

    Man, I bag my groceries even if I go through a normal check-out. No point in me standing there like a dink while the poor person is ringing up my 75 packs of ramen.

    I worked in grocery for several years so it's no big deal to me. Plus a lot of times the poor worker seems honestly thankful for the small gesture. One day we will actually let our cashiers sit down on a stool or something like other places in the world.

    I've been to Branson once and it sucks...it's full of hardcore nutjobs, and Springfield is too...I live in Kansas City, if you aren't in KC or St Louis you are going to encounter lots of rural folks that think it's 1964 and the country is going to hell.

    I don't even care that they have those views. They can view the world how they see fit. But if I didn't invite you to talk about it when I'm paying to visit your tourist establishment with my hard earned money then I don't want to talk about it.
