Sheldon is one of the top 10 TV characters of all time.
That being said, the spin-off doesn't look like it will do the character justice.

 

I suppose it's possible they have him kind of connect with his dad, and then regress when his dad dies. But that seems unlikely in a sitcom. I also expected him to be more redneck. He's supposed to be shooting at raccoons and yelling for more beer.

 

I mean the trailer sets up for this. The fired from the job talk while holding a beer. But shit that is dark for what is supposed to be a comedy.

Every time I hear about TBBT I am always reminded that the characters and the show are not actual geeks or nerds. They are what non geeks think that geeks are like ect.

That doesn't mean the show is bad (and lots of people obviously like it) but it just is something that I always thought was weird.
