I've reached out to survey comet, not sure anything will come from it, but since I only have 7 days of doing hits again before they assigned group #2, I just went through and made sure I hadn't taken any of their hits in that time. Then messaged them to ask politely if it would be possible to be reevaluated.

 

That's when the CR 2 qual was given.

@ElleWoods For the people asking about CR #1 still being available, I did an experiment over the holidays this December.

The kids' Grandma has a very old MTurk account, with only ~200 Hits done.

We did the StudyLab Hit on the 23rd December, and she got CR #1 on the 7th Jan.
It was the ONLY hit that her account has done in years, so we know it's associated with that Studylab HIT.


It's every attention check smashed into one, and writing, so make sure you have all the time you need to do it before it expires!

I haven't done it with another account to 100% narrow down the source, but it's 100% possible to get CR#1 still, as her qual assignment date was Jan 7th. It is extremely likely that the Studylab hit is the source.

I personally didn't even return to turking at all until recently, got CR #1 too (sometime last fall), and my very first hit was done years ago.

SurveyComet is one of the accounts managed by CloudResearch (formerly known as TurkPrime), and they use that specific account to give out CR1 / CR2 quals. StudyLab is another one of their accounts that they use to post that qual HIT.

But you can get CR2 from doing poorly on pretty much any of the surveys that use CloudResearch (the ones that have those random demographics questions below the code box). If they deem your work "low quality" for whatever reason, they'll give you CR2 (blacklist qual). It doesn't have to be a survey specifically posted from their accounts (SurveyComet, StudyLab, etc), it can be any survey from any requester account that uses CloudResearch platform.
