Okay if I can get the opinions or turkers more experienced than I am lol I sent the requester who rejected that survey I did. He didn't respond, but sent a bonus to me for $0.50 which is the value of the survey? Honestly I'm not even worried about the $0.50, I am more concerned over the rejection. I didn't even know you could give a bonus on a rejected task. How do you think I should handle this from here? Suck it up? Message him again?

 

Personally, I send a message to the requester for every rejection, but I won't pursue it too much after that. Rejections are just a fact of life if you do this enough.

If it were me, I'd send a super polite, professional-sounding letter thanking him for the bonus but explaining that it's the rejection that harms your Mturk reputation and directly affects your ability to work on quality hits. Ask him if he will consider reversing the rejection. You can always offer to retake the survey if that helps him (assuming you're willing to - sometimes a hit is so bad I don't want to do it again).

I try to get almost all rejections overturned - and yeah, it's not really about the money for me, it's the rating that I guard. I'm never pushy or write emails to requesters that get into crazy-town, but if it's all cordial on both sides, I definitely try to get them reversed.
