So basically the numbers are much less a good idea as they are straight up necessary to make any relevant $/hr?

Basically. You are locked out of a lot of hits until you get to at least 1k hits. Some at 10k hits as well.

It is important to note that batches are the best way to make money on mturk anyways so it works out.

For example Amazon Requester Inc. - Customer Interests pay a penny each but even those you can easily do at $10/hr or so if you use a script so that you aren't clicking.

I still do CI s and other numbers after 60K and masters, but I am not a good example of a worker, I have a weekly $100 goal. I am just a polar bear who has to sit in her office in front of a computer all day for her work and shit.

A lot of requesters use quals that require you to have a certain # approved to do the hit. 1000 is the first big milestone. A lot will open up once you get there and it will be a lot easier to make money. In terms of $/hr, some batches with a low pay per hit can make for good pay if the hits are quick to do.

I usually only do the German CI's now as I know I can leave them there while I do other stuff and the batch will still be there when I'm done. :D

You prob are comparable to what a lot of people's early goals are but you spend a fraction amount of the effort that they would do to get to that same goal.

Basically work smarter, not harder. :)

I was reading a lot of forum posts, and stuff on Reddit and there was a real mess of opinions, I'm glad I got some direct responses from here though. Once again appreciated.

No. That wasn't a bad thing. You don't spend much time turking but in that time you spend it extremely efficiently.

I bet that it would take the average /r/mturk user at least 4x as long to make the same amount of money as you.

I'm still learning stuff, but I try to work regular hours, 8-5pm and I'll keep on going if there's money or if I haven't hit my goal. 60% of my time at least is spent searching for HITs so I'd say I'm "working" less hours than that.
