    Welcome to TH :)

    As others have said, unfortunately mTurk is largely unregulated. If it makes you feel better that kind of thing is at least fairly rare if you use tools like TO / forums / etc etc. While AMT may not look out for either side very much workers have done a good job piecing together safety nets for each other.
