Yep, thats exactly how it happens.

 

I received that error more in the last two days than the last year. At one point yesterday, I started doing underpaid Prolific studies instead of trying to catch hits only to have their timers expired before I could do them on MTurk. I've slowed down my catchers and triggers to the point where it can't catch anything now. Ugh.

I agree with you. Crazy amounts this week. And I am wondering if MTurk has initiated some kind of "rolling blackout" system to deal with so many workers trying to access their server. Because I have stretches where I have been fine, and then it happens for a week. And then it goes back to normal. Or....even the difference in the time of day that happens. Like now, it's a little better than it was from 6am-11am for me.

I agree that the time of day and the amount of traffic on the servers might have a lot to do with the issue. I didn't get the error after dinner last night, but then again my stuff was running much slower and not as much work was being posted. I known its wishful thinking, but I hope that things will run better soon for all of us.
