4/13- Thinking Thoroughly Thursday

I sent a message yesterday and he replied with "I am sure of the survey I tried before distributing. I am not sure what the problem. I will get back to you after solve this problem with cloud research". I never contacted Connect. I think the guy got bombarded with angry messages and just decided to overturn it lol Theres a whole thread about the rejection on reddit.

 

Mturk still says that I live in California. Lol. I guess I don't have to worry with them.

 

At work, I can't even see studies. On my phone, I can but it won't let me start them.

 

Also, if you're going to make an AC, make it right. "Select moderately agree to show you're paying attention" then make moderately agree one of the answer choices please.

At the end, says "if your answer is no, then close the survey since you won't get paid." There was no indication before this point that I would be disqualled. I tdoes say that this is testing questions for a future survey so fingers crossesd that's what was happening.

2. Turn off any VPNs and proxies from your browser/device while on Prolific. Your place of work or education may also be using VPNs or proxies as standard.

3. Contact your internet service provider. They should be able to give you a new IP address (but we can't guarantee that that won't also be flagged).

4. If you're on a mobile, you may be able to get a new IP address by simply restarting the device.

5. Access Prolific from a different internet connection such as a mobile hotspot.

I did this one too. I contacted them after I finished and told them that I didn't fail the attention check just in case.

Hey all been a busy day for me havent even done any turking today but got a great hit with a long timer

 

So it seems that they DO like hotspots. But DO NOT like VPNs. That was always my understanding of what was acceptable.

 

How do you update your demographics information with Mturk with MTS installed?

 

From my understanding, there is not an option to update your demographics with Mturk, that actually works.

When that happens I turn the power on my hotspot off and then restart it. That usually clears it up. That happened to me this morning.
