So are you still not able to work on MTurk?
When I had this problem I called Amazon on the phone.

 

I am still suspended. Can you message me the phone number you called? The closest I got was talking to a secretary at some office who thought she could maybe help me, but was ultimately unable to reach anyone.

The number isn't in my call history anymore. I'm pretty sure I just called a regular customer service number. I do remember I called in the evening and he hooked me back up. The whole thing was really weird.

 

I did. Definitely try that, but don't expect much. I even heard from one of the two co-founders of Turkopticon that they banned her requester account and won't respond to her either.

 

I tried several phone numbers over many days, but unfortunately didn't get anywhere. I've been working on a different online platform as of late, but there is one requester on mturk I really miss working for and I'd like access to the funds stuck in my account for months now. I even faxed my plea for reinstatement to the direct mturk fax line they use for people to fax their IDs for verification, haha.

 

I accepted a survey. then I went to my queue. opened the hit to start it. the page opened, then went right back to my queue page. the hit is still there in the queue.

repeated, repeated, repeated.

does anyone know how to fix this so I can do the hit? I have had this happen many times when my queue is full or nearly full. but rn it only has that one good hit in it.

edit: I fixed the problem by doing the survey in a different browser.

 

I just wanted to say hi! I sometimes catch rameshes and get all excited, only to realize they were for hours earlier in the day. nice to see you though!

did you do anything out of the ordinary with your amazon account? like make an unusual quantity or dollar amount of purchases, change/update your info? or turk at a new location or on a new device? feel free to ignore me, but because you've been around so long, I wonder if it was some weird technical issue like that instead of a problem with the work you turn in.

 

I know you replied to Laby, but answering those same questions:
My Amazon account is actually fine. I can login and buy stuff (not that I want to anymore). Nothing unusual or different, except a few months before I got suspended, I changed ISPs, but I don't think that would flag anyone to get them banned. Who really knows how AWS runs mturk though.

 

@Kadauchi is that script doing something badly?

I know I almost entirely stopped scripting a long time ago, when they switched to the new worker website. because I started getting account warning messages telling me not to script the things I was scripting. rather than risk it by experimenting, I just pretty much stopped scripting. but I would still script in some ways that I found that were still safe if I go back home so I can turk for real again.

maybe that script is it.
