For those who did those HUMACI batches, it seems the requester mass rejected everyone due to bots:

Seems pretty unfair to me. Why didn't they have systems in place to deal with the bots? It's well known Mturk has a bot farm problems for years now.

I only did 1 or 2 of these to test the waters. they needed to set up proper quals and monitor the finished work as it came in to ensure accuracy, and assign a bad workers qual to some. what a mess. the pay was bad though, so I guess they'll have to spend another $10.00 lol.

Due to numerous and inconsistent responses to almost all HITs, we are forced to reject all submissions and reassess the usage of the Mechanical Turk platform.Presumably due to automated systems, such as bots, a large number of responses appear to be random and unrelated to the requested ingredient. A partial manual review has confirmed this issue, but the automatic evaluation system is unable to distinguish genuine responses from random ones due to the complexity of the task assigned to workers in the HITs, compelling us to reject all responses.The task will be revised, and the decision to publish it on the platform will be reassessed at a later time.

 

I kind of suspect this was a lot of non-english speakers rather than bots. but I could be wrong.

I don't believe that. There was a false "bot panic" that was later attributed to "low quality Indian workers". Just a lot of bullshit to avoid paying people for their time. There are also a lot of people who don't know the difference between a bot and a script.

The best way to fight back is to show these mass rejections on their reviews. Right now they show no rejections.

Hey! Just remembered TV is a place

We have an appointment tomorrow morning with a nonprofit shelter/vet here that my resident cat goes to as well! Got lucky on a cancellation.

Fleas seem to be almost entirely gone. I discovered ear mite poop mistaking it as fleas burrowed in their ears so I cleaned just the outer ear to give them some relief. Also I actually think it's a boy? Genitals are further apart than I originally thought.

Weight is still the same 1lbs 5 oz. Definitely has URI, treating symptoms with steam from the shower and warm towel compresses. I was able to remove a bunch of the blockage in their nasal passages . Last night they wouldn't eat so we had to bottle feed. Didn't eat much even with the bottle. Today after the shower steam and warm compresses they were able to eat on their own. Lot more energy today, they really want a lot of attention but I can't give it since I don't know their health status. My cat is fully vaxxed but I'm just acting like everyone is a ticking time bomb and sanitizing as much as possible.

Hopefully we'll get good news tomorrow. I'm really scared the kitten has a lifelong illness or other ailment that will preclude them from staying here long-term since my current cat does not have any serious health complications. Worried about FIV, FIP, FeCOV and all the other scary 3 and 4 letter feline diseases.

Right on the heels of this last suspension, we are hoping that we can get attention to the issue this time. https://blog.turkopticon.net/?page_id=727 if you were affected (even if you only did a few, the numbers help us figure out how many total were rejected)
