@Kadauchi I'm running hitscraper alongside hit finder just to see if they catch the same things - I am catching a lot more on HS... is that a "con" of running HF on worker.mturk? I caught a pinterest, another $2 survey and various other HITS that never logged on HF.

 

I have a fix done for non-iframe HITs. They now live track properly. Update should go out sometime tonight as long as it didn't break anything else.

 

There isn't a con. Are you 100% sure that you are running at the exact same search settings?

 

I have my delay on HS at 4 and HF at 3.. all else is the same. Is that why?

What happens is that they will be scanning at different times. Let me try and explain the whole thing as clearly as possible.

With those settings you mentioned.
HS scans at: 0s - 4s - 8s - 12s
HF scans at: 0s -3s - 6s - 9s -12s

Lets say pinterest posted at 4s. HS will pick it up. HF's scan is 2s later, meaning the HIT is already gone. Its gets more mismatched the further apart the scan are.

Even setting up the scans at the same time won't give the same results because you didn't start them at the same time.

The scan setting in both require time to complete, which will throw them off even if you happened to start them at the exact same time. The below times are just to illustrate a point, they are made up.

Request mturk for HITs - 25ms
Receive response from mturk - 100ms
Parse HITs - 100ms
Draw HITs - 25ms
Wait to send next request 3s.

So while you have it set to 3s intervals, it really ends up being 3.25s.
