I know there was a batch of them earlier when the Z's were trickling

 

Well its basically setup as a second electrical panel (sub panel) where circuits were moved from the primary panel. When power is lost the generator starts up and then the sub panel breaks it bond to the primary panel and put the load onto the generator. Total time it takes to come back on is 45-60 seconds and runs off LP.

 

ahhh ha! will definitely look into it once I get a water softener. Water here is gross

 

Alternatively, $150 for an 1800w generator from walmart will power 90% of household electronics for 4% the cost.. you can probably buy 2 before breaking even just for the concrete slab to put a residential genny down on..

Super curious, why do you have one? I looked into them and it just seemed like an awful lot of headache for a once or twice a year thing. Was it worth for you? Probably most of my interest in it was just to say I had one haha

Well it was purchased as part of an overall plan, not to get to specific but I like to be prepared for damn near anything. I work from home quite a bit and in my line of work being prepared is very necessary. I have experienced power outage lasting for several days growing up and also been through several severe weather events and power is very necessary. Also I sorta dislike my neighbors who spend frivolously and are a little to curious as to what I do for a living, so it is also a big FU to them. Then again I do have quite a few 100' 20A drop cords for a hat in hand scenario or if their kids are going to be cold or something ethical like that..

 

losing power is going to suck...

Okay well I just started and my dashboard thingy says

Pending Review: 18 (these count towards your earnings, but are not paid out unitl they are reviewed)

And I've had maybe three of them disappear from the pending review section but nothing else changed, like the current earnings are still the same, so did they get approved, rejected, or what?

 

Do you have all electric in your place? What is the temp there now cause its hovering just under freezing and been raining for nearly a week straight so the humidity is making it that much colder...
