Anyways doing some quick math with people having more then on tab open we might have had ~100 clients running. Lets just go with that number as it is easier to work with.

100* 8 MB = 800MB ... now the server has an uplink of most likely 200-500mbps .. and at 500mbps even it would be capped out for 13 seconds.

edit: after 13 seconds is over everything is back to normal though and it shouldn't crash as the hardware isn't the limit.. just the bandwidth most likely.
