Nothing personal, but theres one path that kind of discussion goes down and this isn't the place for it. I like my forum discussions like I like my ice cream.. vanilla AF.

 

I'm more of a neapolitan kind of guy.

 

I've tried to convince him. He loves the company he's at but hates Socal with a passion, so I'm guessing if he stays it will be for awhile but not forever. I told him he would probably like upstate NY and he doesn't want to live and die in the deep south, so I figure it's prolly a good medium between the type of place I like to live and the type of place he does.

Now to wear him down over the next 5 years.

 

As all parents know it is bitter sweet, she is all the things I always wanted her to be and more. Today is the day for feeling old when she starts college next fall is the day I will feel like I have succeeded.

I mean, we both like it as far as it being pretty and such but it's not really a place either of us would choose to move. the cost of living is BONKERS, this town is more isolated from stuff like a damn target than rural georgia was, food is overpriced AF, the tax is so insane, etc. There really isn't any other sensical option to live though. He knew that he would hate it here, but he loves the company. I knew I would not totally love it here, but this is a great career move and I'm not enough of a Grinch to veto this.

I mean, they literally have an hour long lunch for a chili and salsa contest with live music and stuff today. He gets 2 fridays off a month. The company is giving me full benefits because they consider us domestic partners so we don't have to be married for me to get really awesome health insruance. The company is fab and they put him on the strato launcher project doing pneumatics which is bonkers cool.

Do I want to live here forever? Not really? Will I make the best of it for 5 years or whatnot? Sure. Would I enjoy eventually going back North, hell yes.

And seriously, this cold is wrecking me, luckily I have leftover theraflu from last year's flu debacle.
