The recording software is a bit overly sensitive but I have had zero issues since I got my audio setup with a proper mic and DAC. They shouldn't expect most people to be able able to get an audio source that clean though tbh. >.>

 

I actually only use the built-in mic on my laptop, and I haven't had an issue in a while (I think they may have updated their software). I used to have problems every once in a while, but not often.

 

I use a Guitar Hero mic I bought used from a Game Stop a few years ago. Works for every audio hit I have ever done.

The mics in headsets can have noise that their software can get confused by.

I think that they finally loosened up the requirement awhile ago but with a perfect audio setup you would have been fine even with super strict settings on their side. But lets be real here. Any requester that expects turkers to have anything better than a headset mic (comparable to $10 mics) is out of their god damn mind.
