    Doctors don't know crap about meds. They're more likely to just repeat what a phama rep tells them than to spend time researching it out. Pharmacy techs know about pharma products. That's what they want to school for. Listen to your pharmacist. They know drugs.

    I had a horrrrrrible time with generic birth control. Like as in months and months of barely being able to move. I had to sleep 12-14 hours a day just to function. Gained weight even though I could barely eat, got a slew of acne, was constantly nauseous, my bones felt like they would literally break if you tapped me, horrible depression where even though nothing bad was going on in my life I would just wake up sobbing --- and I don't have a history of depression at all. I was on the name brand for 7 years with no problems and it all went away within a couple weeks of it being out of my system and getting back on the normal stuff. I don't care if it's uncommon, I'll never touch generic anything ever again after that experience.

    Which is exactly why I said, "ask your pharmacist" Don't take it from the technician who has been doing this shit for years, sure.

    I've found that doctors are usually pretty useless unless you have some kind of emergency situation. If you have guts hanging outside your body, then you're probably better off seeing a doctor.

    He probably has good intentions but just bad information. I doubt he's trying to do anything nefarious here, probably just heard it from a colleague and ran with it.

    Just ask your pharmacist which its anything specific about medications. Doctors know a lot about a lot, but (good) pharmacists know more when it comes to the actual meds, I promise ;)
