So when we hear you use the terms "dump" or "drop" for the rest of the afternoon, we know you won't be talking about HIT batches.

 

I love this change. Not only will it help out the people who make honest typos, but maybe it'll also encourage the people posting that a "20-page survey took them 3 minutes going slow" to reconsider how much time they actually spent on it so the numbers are more accurate.

 

That’s actually the average length of a marriage that ends in divorce and isn’t factoring in the other half of marriages that last until death. Now, If you wanna parse the numbers of average marriage time on a whole, you’re looking at an average of over 20 years AT LEAST, and that’s not counting time together before marriage. Couples tend to be together longer before marriage these days and the median age of marriage has increased. And, were you to go with a median, the number jumps higher because of course you have the average being dragged down by people who get married and divorced in under 2 years.

And, at this point, we would be just be ignoring relevant facts by not looking at cohabitation times as well, which will bump up the average years as well because most marriages that don’t fail will be for people who are somewhere over 25, and had cohabitated or otherwise been together seriously for at least a few years before marriage.

Of course, you have many stastical outliers in this situation because you have the high school sweethearts who live and die together happily and you have the people who lived together for years and married over 30, and then leave each other within a year.

But, all in all, it’s not so dire as the statistics solely on divorcing couples would seem! STATISTICS
