10/27 - Fix 'er up Friday!

..unless its like, really difficult. Or moderately difficult. Or easy but cold outside.

 

I think I used TM for about two days at the most before I switched to PC. It was my first day of turking when I was still on /r/mturk and on my second day I was suggested PC by someone on MTG.

 

when this happens to me I refresh the page and then turn everything back on and it is fine

 

In that case its probably disruptions from them working on the sites today. This whole week folks have been complaining about website errors. If it happens in multiple places/setups, its probably not specific to your instance of the script.

 

It's super sad how much of an improvement that is if it's consistent across the batch. Still confused on how that batch got done for those slave wages. It's not like it was open to intl workers.

 

Oddly enough, I didn't see any errors today.

 

Wasn't it 250 words for 2 cents at one point?

 

r/mturk people who only ever knew Swagbucks' tasks thinking it was great.

 

I could almost see 3 cents for 18 images being passable for someone in India or some shit. The 250 image batch was a joke but people still did it.

 

Like I said "when you were little."

 

And what small critter paid the price for your gain?

 

I'm still not convinced that this is the same @ChrisTurk that was here last year. He could have easily sold the forums and been replaced with this guy who actually stays up super late.

I just got it working again, but once again have no idea what made it start working...I refreshed PC, closed Chrome completely, opened all back up with no avail, closed all down again, logged out of both www and worker, logged back in to both, was oddly given a message on www only to enable my cookies (they are already), restarted PC, went to go look at the code and got confused about what I should copy paste, decided to do a couple of these steps again, turned my cookies off, then restarted, back on, then restarted again, restarted all.........and now it works, except for one HIT that I just deleted and re-added and now that one's fine too

Basically if you run into my situation, you're SOL and just keep throwing things at the wall until something sticks and it works again

 

It's probably from that diet of his. He went off of it and now all the normal food is messing up his body's ability to sleep.

 

Still on it, just have room for breakfast & the occasional lazy day. nom nommm.

Exactly. Someone here asked a question so I opened up another to help and what seemed to be bad pay when I first looked at them at like 20 words had morphed into one that had 182. For 2 or 3 cents. I'm not saying that's good pay in another country, but it's unfathomably bad pay in any part of the US and embarrassing for anything associated with being an Amazon Requester. I thought that batch would sit forever, but it disappeared eventually. People need to value their time more.

* This is both a pro & con: There were approximately 500 names to scrutinize, so this felt like doing a big block of penny HITs that you didn't have to compete against everyone to grab as much of the block as possible.
* Speedy approval.
Cons: * Instead of a wall of bubbles HITs similar to this usually have,, this was a huge long column of tumbling dropdowns. A nightmare for those who like to do these primarily with their mouse or trackball, but this was pretty manageable if you can navigate with keyboard commands.
This is both a pro & con: There were approximately 500 names to scrutinize, so it was pretty monotonous.
