Yep, just that one withdrawal. I made another withdrawal the following Monday that went through just fine.

 

ESPN actually told me to start Winston instead of Watson. Glad I disregarded that advice.

 

I think this is pretty spot on. Way back in the early 2000's paypal was an absolute nightmare, but the Internet as a whole was far more wild west (..unless you consider the ridiculous nightmare fuel cryptocurrencies are) than it is nowadays. Everything / everyone was a scam and its not like PayPal was some professional company, it was a startup before startups were the well funded starbucks driven plushy chair covered offices they are today.

I'll always be salty about the money they held up of mine for 6months.. but I've been using it heavily again since 2010/2011 and haven't seen any of the old issues. Chargebacks still blow Dick Cheney's balls, but you'd get that with anything accepting CC's and its not really on PP, they just take the heat b/c every idiot can sign up for PayPal and they don't realize they'd get the same bend over and take it treatment from a normal CC processor lol.

I don't use eBay, but normal online business experience is pretty good w/ PP, especially compared to my time in the 2001-2004 era.

 

Yeah, I don't use Paypal because of stuff that happened back then. I wasn't a seller, but I was sort of collateral damage of buying from the wrong person and their solution was to permanently limit the account even though they actually admitted I wasn't at fault. It's great that things are better now, but they've done nothing to rectify or re-instate accounts like mine since they've instituted changes.

 

seller protection is non-existent. If a buyer wants a refund, they get it.

 

I swear if this said tea I would get for @Randomacts right now

That's really great. With a new month starting and bills being due for many, I was hoping that was the case. They still need to fix this problem ASAP, but at least it's just the one withdrawal and hopefully isn't make or break for people financially.

 

I wish Amazon gave more of a fuck. This is a livelihood for many people.

 

In other news, Amazon is the only company I've ever seen put a "now hiring" ad on national television.

ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, and NFL gave me nothing but bad advice this week. Luckily it didn't affect my TH team, but another one of mine is hurting and I'd be winning if I had ignored them.

 

in my case it was buyer protection. I had a solid rating with around 20 sales and 20 buys. Sold a piece of home theater equipment when I was broke and couldn't afford the simple charge of insurance or sig, got my 200 dollars, paid my bills, owed paypall 200 because buyer never got equipment.

 

The little guy almost always gets fucked.

 

A lot of the reason they have to be so much better is that they offer CCs and debit cards, so they are bound by those federal laws they ignored as an online only company.

Oh man, I think crypto is fun. Anything that lets you buy drugs through the mail is win-win in my book.

Did the shipping company make good? Seems like it was their fault it was lost.

 

He's probably saying the customer did in fact get the goods, but b/c he didn't pay for the signature+tracking info PP instantly sided with the customer and overturned the payment, leaving him with no recourse since the shipping company did in fact deliver.
