    Considering the times I've been to Mexico (and most parts of Central America), it's actually extremely common. Most people, at least in my personal experience, honestly do have chickens in their yard and running around the street. I would guess that is why it is featured in shows.

    You don't see it ton in big cities, though there are still some packs of dogs running around. Actually, it's a good rule of thumb that if you don't notice an dogs around, you shouldn't get anything from the street meat guy.

    Also, don't ever eat Meat of the Mountain.

    It is true that I've only been ot more rural and poorer parts of Mexico and Central America, so I have little knowledge of that. But I would definitely agree about the dog rule, lol!

    I once spent a Christmas with wild Belizean dogs. It was... fun, at first. But... Slightly traumatic by the end, really.
