    I think Microsoft spent too long waffling on the platform and not enough time trying to convince people to write apps for their store. THey weren't sure what they wanted it to be, and the app makers didn't want to spend the time and resources to code apps for a platform that didn't have users. And users didn't want to spend time on a platform that didn't have apps.

    They would have done better if they had figured out a strategy first and spend $$$ funding big name apps to fill out the store.

    And Xamarin. Xamarin happened and Microsoft was like ehhhhhh, our own phone isn't as important anymore. Let's just take what someone else is doing and find a way to adapt and do it our way.

    I have dropped my phone into countless planes without breaking it and my battery can last through flights, that's basically my benchmark for what I want these days LOL. The number of times I've had to admit I dropped my phone somewhere I shouldn't, well it's too embarassing to admit to.

    That is an inexpensive cost per month, but the expensive lump sum doesn't necessarily mean good quality. In most cases, you are paying for a brand not for the actual worth of the item.

    As a either dev and/or power user at most given points in time, I've always preferred the power that Android puts into your hands over the wiffle-ball sandbox of iOS.
