Just goes to show the power that a minor tweak in a search engine algorithm can have over the general public. Google has the power to heavily influence public perception and discussion simply be rearranging the order in which pages show up on its search platform.

This is generally a good "elusively obvious" marketing trick, too - piggyback on someone else's success. For example, many singers on YouTube become famous and develop their own evergreen following by uploading great covers of pop songs that are currently trending. Rebecca Black accidentally piggybacked on the popularity of Black Friday.

I gave them the form with the EIN, they didn't say a word about it other than thanks for filling it out and that it's just a formality. Asked for the company name and location before giving it and they gave me the name and they're just in Chicago, so that all makes me feel a lot better. I feel like it's legit now and they probably just have their ducks absolutely not in any row when it comes to understanding tax law. I dunno if they're gonna get screwed at the end of the year when they realize they have to pay heavier taxes on what they pay me now, they would have been a lot better off with a 1099.

Nothing exciting for me, unfortunately. All the cash I'm making is going directly towards my wedding next November. Ugh. Why is getting married so expensive?
