The idea that you consider things coming out of your keyboard to be "truth" is the real problem here. I love you, sorry I'm a dick, but being pompous & boisterous doesn't make you "ballsy" it just makes you insufferable to try and get useful criticism out of.

I don't disagree with your above assessment of TV vs TO in current form. You're correct. It is in fact valuable right now that the user base is relatively homogeneous. But the idea that incorporating others is impossible is defeatist and not correct. Randomly grabbing some Requester profile and saying "look this is gonna suck like TO" was a ridiculously poor presentation of your argument. Half the reason the folks contributing to TV are useful contributions is the efforts maintained around here to turn people into capable enough Turkers to submit those reviews in the first place. Its a feeder system.

So like if you were capable of downloading the entire DB in a nice JSON format and adjusting the values client-side to suit your perception of the platform (already possible)? Or excluding individual workers you find to be submitting reviews far out of line with your workflow/speed expectations (working on it)?

I make more money on mTurk than 99.9999% of people. I am, unequivocally, a very good Turker. I made $6/hr on the one I tried to speed through. I am very confused at your argument here considering you've previously proclaimed wage scripts as "useless" because they don't account for things like load times blah blah blah. I want you to explain to me how you think opening multiple browser windows for a one-off HIT (they very rarely show up in meaningful batches that are easy to setup a workflow for without forsaking something better) and then loading and then loading and then copy/pasting would warrant an $8/hr display on TV as a platform. That's absurd. I feel like you're flip flopping simply for the sake of arguing here..

And before anyone makes a smartass, "Oh yeah? You know what sailors sound like?" YES, I grew up on around a lot of working class fisherman, LITERALLY. I can tie some sick knots though.

 

What I really would like to see out of TurkerView would be a reviewer includelist and/or blocklist, so that you could say to yourself "oh, this reviewer knows what they're talking about", or "this guy has no clue and only reviews things when he's drunk and angry".

Given the API @ChrisTurk has provided, I could code something like this into a fork of the userscript, but it'd require a lot of network bandwidth overhead that wouldn't be necessary were this type of functionality baked into the tool itself.

Then everyone could just block me on it, since my reviews would obviously be super-biased lmao.

Lol I just mentioned this when we posted nearly simultaneously, but I thought the idea was to minimize network overhead. If the idea of a reviewer blocklist/includelist turns out to be a popular one, that could be quite a bit of extra traffic to do things client-side.

 

This brings up 2 very important questions.

1. How much do you actually make on here? (just say more or less than ra, if you wanna keep it vague)
2. Does homogeneous mean some sort of secret gay club or something?
