    At first I was thinking about getting that $120 chromebook but I think that pooling my dad's birthday gift 'fund' of sorts and mine together and doing a single gift as this will be better.

    On a side note... I have been thinking about getting a similar setup and starting to teach myself to draw a bit more as well but I just don't have the space here for what is essentially a 4th monitor lol

    The ipad is a super limited platform and on top of that it would have a super limited range of pressure if there is even pressure sensitivity with a pen.

    Reading is a thing. I said that the drawing tablet would be like a 4th monitor

    I owned a graphic design business where I specialized in logos and RA was talking about getting a Wacom Tablet. A decent wacom tablet will cost as much as an iPad. Those little tablets are useless

    Idk how far you are in your research but I literally just got done researching new tablets. I just got a new one, with a screen, and spent a bit researching first. My first choice ended up being on back order so went with my second choice, but still super happy with it. It calibrates really well, the pen has a great battery life. I haven't recharged it since my initial charging. Came with two pens and an artist smudge glove thingy. It has a great range for adjusting the tilt of the screen and is super sturdy.
