    Also the pen pressure and calibration is a huge step up from my previous tablet - a cheapo Wacom without a screen I've had since college.

    That is the exact one that I saw suggested when I googled. I would still need to build a computer for her though as that is basically a monitor.

    Yeah, I use it as a second monitor for my mac now whenever I'm not using it to harness my degree in Photoshop.

    Would it would as the only monitor for a setup? My mom can get more monitors later for reference but it would be nice to avoid that cost for now.

    Oh and have you used https://krita.org/ ?

    I'll prob just put ubuntu on the computer with that to avoid having to pay for expensive software and so that the computer runs smoother on the lower end parts or w/e

    Possbily? I have an iMac and a Windows laptop, I don't have a way to test this for ya.

    I personally haven't used Krita, I've used Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop mostly, but I've always heard good things about Krita and it's pretty highly recommended for free digital painting software.

    Krita runs on OSX/Linux/Windows (basically everything) just in case you didn't know.

    But yeah it sounds like what I was looking at was prob the right way to go about this I just wanted to ask around for a sanity check.

    I would rather just build her a cheap computer. Also if she needs help I won't be able to help her on OSX as easily anyways.
