We finally got a new tree this year. We had inherited my in laws old one when they quit decorating for Christmas, but it was huge!!!! and it was so old it it had big holes that no amount of fluffing could fill in lol. Now we have a nice pre-lit one we got on a BF sale and it's was 1000 times easier to decorate.

That's because she isn't old enough to understand stuff like that yet.

ARGH! Even if she didn't want them she should have at least given them to you. That's no good.

    That is so sad :emoji_sob:

My stepsons ornaments usually end up front and center. Half of our actual christmas decorations are things he's made in school when he was in elementary. I LOVE the homemade stuff. The only "real" ornaments we have are yearly hallmark firefighter ones that my husband got every year from his mom when he was a firefighter. I think there's about 10 of them.

Also, artsy shot of our christmas tree. This was taken with a cell phone camera. I say that because it amazes me exactly what a cell phone camera can do these days:

I'll take a more general one tonight, and of the rest of my christmas decorations. I love christmas lights :) This is my favorite time of year when I can sit downstairs at night in a room lit entirely by the glow of christmas lights.

I hate when people do those kind of things :( my actual mom got rid of all my stuff like that, I was so pissed. She could've just given them to me. Also got rid of my huge collections of kids books because I "didn't need them anymore", and now that I have a kid of my own i'm like "GEE THANKS MOM".

This conversation is doing nothing but reminding me that I need to actually get up and do things. I have to move my whole computer setup up stairs so I can put the tree up. Curse you guys for reminding me that life exists outside of my computer chair.

Note 8? I love the two camera bokeh effect and the fact that you can alter the amount of the effect even after taking the shot.

I sort of hate the fact that my cell phone camera way outperforms my circa 2000 Olympus Point and Shoot... and that was a great camera.

Pixel 2. Why use 2 cameras when you can do it with one? ;)

Luckily I have two books left that were my favorite as a kid. I'm mostly amazed a good chunk of my sketchbooks growing up were kept cuz my dad is very minimalistic and can easily throw stuff out. Really glad I still have those so I can reflect on how my style evolved over the years. Def keep this stuff, turk parents <3

I mean, mostly to each their own of course. 90% of our ornaments are gone with the wind, airplanes, and clemson- because these are the easily giftable things we like lol. We have an eccentric collection of some randos though. I have a giant plastic candy cane, and telling me I can't put it up just means I will buy more. Matt is not stupid enough to argue about it, my ex on the other hand. We once had company over and he walked into an apartment with like 20 giant plastic candy canes, wrapped in garland, glued to the walls. I regret NOTHING!

    Awww, that sounds nice!

Stepmom also rage destroyed most of our childhood photos because my mother took them or was in them. So, most of my childhood is gone. That was nice. She never asked, just trashed em. My dad had a nice meltdown over that too, cause baby pics, and you think she would have learned the first time. She was apparently embarassed that my dad would happily hang things up, like the just fully terrible hanger door wreath I made as a kid. She would yell at him and he would just gesture to it and say, "ISN'T IT THE WORST?! I LOVE IT!"

My dad and I don't get along most of the time, but we have the same exact tacky off the wall sense of humor. Nobody ever lets us play something like pictionary or charades togerher cause we just feed off the other ones insane logic and everyone insists we are cheating lol.

Because with 2 it's not just digital blurring and you can change it afterwards in case you want a clear shot as well.
