I wish requestors when they give a rejection would let you know WHY they rejected it.

FWIW if you ever get an "X" as a rejection reason you've met a Requester who has fallen victim to Amazon's amazingly awful documentation. Its the "default recommended" way to reject a HIT, which sounds absurd because it is, but most of them don't even know that rejections are a big deal to workers at all. Most of them in this category consider it a "sorry, not good enough, try again" kind of setup (which is actually intuitive, and how Daemo works IIRC their whitepaper correctly, but that's neither here/there/elsewhere)..

This makes you my super-duper-double favorite kind of person. No threat to my income stream, teaches me how to move TurkerHub to AWS so I can bask in the chaos

That is the only thing I can think of that would be a better reason than the truth for all the noise!
Truth being that my boyfriend is hard at work making a delicious albeit noisy dinner, and the hen is cooing in her sleep beside me.

 

Did I hear its possible to send them the how-to remove a rejection? Does that actually work if you send them instructions?

And yeah, a form letter with the whole "rejections hurt our standing on the platform they're not a great way to deal w/ a messed up task" yadda yadda yadda does the trick in jesus probably 80% of instances I've seen.

Truthfully I don't ever message Requesters about rejections, and despite getting them from time to time, 90% have been overturned because other Turkers who are more well versed in sweet talk than I am handle it lol. YMMV there, a lot of avoiding them is learning how to identify the "risk level" of a task which comes with experience but eventually it gets to the point where they don't even matter.

Polite but squeeky wheels tend to get greased up on mTurk lol.

 

Well, the best that can happen with that HIT is, you get into the instruction round, then when the 18 minute timer or w/e it is times out you get booted and you get 2.50 and can take it again later for another 2.50 plus the $5.80 - $6.10 bonus. I've had a couple of days this was up where I got through the instruction round 2 or 3 times before getting the full game HIT. Pay is kinda low, but you can do other HITs while the instruction timer is running, so it works out okay :?I
