That is not popcorn and if the popcorn you eat tastes like that, you need a new brand.

It just really astounds me the variety and amount of meds my doctors allow me to have. I have the tolerance of Hunter S. Thompson

I think it's less tied to the object it's self (because while frustrated, I wasn't actually discouraged or upset about it not selling yet), but moreso to the criticism, even from somebody whose opinion I don't necessarily value.

Ouch, mine wouldn't give me xanax (mostly because of it's high dependency), even though I had tried a couple and they did help. But she found something that works just as well, so i'm not too mad.

Xanax is awesome for Generalized Anxiety and Valium is good for panic attacks cause it slows the pulse. I have been on Xanax since 91 and am maxxed out so we had to go somewhere

My cyclothymia meds are really made for treating epilepsy. It's weird how that works.

I didn't take it as criticism. I took it as a simple "put it at a price I can impress people at work with and get it moving."

Related story: In the absence of my guidance, my brother has always undersold himself. He'd get a big client, get excited, work 12hrs/day on a mixing project for 4-7 days, and he'd think that $1000 was a decent price for the work. Knowing that it was a big client that actually had a budget, I told him to double what he was asking. After fighting with him tooth and nail on the topic and having tons of philosophical debates, he decided to be the proverbial baby bird jumping out of the nest for the first time, not knowing whether his wings would catch his fall. Not surprisingly (to me, at least), the client obliged to pay $2,000 (twice what he was originally going to ask, which he'd grown accustomed to from working with lesser clients w/o serious budgets) and is still a steady client willing to pay at the higher rate.

But we would fight about things like this all the time. And instead of him perceiving it as "oh, Cuyler thinks my work is better than what he's asking for", he clearly looked at it as something more along the lines of, "oh, Cuyler thinks I'm too incompetent to price things for myself". There's often very little truth to our perspectives of things. Even the basic facts we use to construct our model of the world are prone to frequent illusion. Being in a negative mindset, he selected the more negative of two interpretations of an ambiguous situation.

Speaking of illusions and the subjectiveness of "reality", here's a fun one that I bring up all the time in music circles when I talk about why I tweak plugin parameters with my eyes closed:

I think it may be the kind of thing you'd have to know her to understand her indication by it, or at least have experience with people like her. She's miserable in her life and can't let anybody, especially me, have anything good or feel good about anything they have/do.

After careful deliberation I have decided to release this hit.

This hit could be perfect for you if you have seen every movie since 1950, need $10 really badly, oh, and you need to have masters. Watch that 5 day timer though, I have a feeling it's going to be a tight squeeze.
