12/15 - CALM THE FORK DOWN FRIDAY!!!

Sure, I knew it was there, I just didn't know when it was going to become mandatory. I was hoping they'd just take forever and never get around to it.

 

I think today was my best day of turking ever and I'm 90% sure it was because I had no idea where I was in relation to my daily goal.

 

It is simply not as fast, easy to view and accessible as the old site. I've seen a lot of worker platforms and it probably is in the bottom 50% for me. It is usable but it takes more effort to use and the details are often hard to get to. You would think with a site upgrade they would give workers more functionality but I don't see any attempt at real improvement other than the CSS (maybe you can point some out). The queue, in all its vital importance, is a perfect glaring example. And I have no faith in mTurk to fix anything wrong in any reasonable time. Good thing I barely touch the unmodified front end of mTurk anymore. With that said I'm sure the real reason for this is a backend overhaul and this is just what we see. And that is a very good thing because mTurk had many problems.

 

They needed the mturk.com domain to segment out so they slid everyone onto a subdomain

 

www already was a subdomain....

With all the changes today I started a new profile and I'm running limited scripts so I should be able to narrow it down fairly quickly.

Using Hit Forker. Guess it hasn't been fleshed out yet. I can't even copy bbcode on HIT Finder though..

So.. I'm just trying to figure out my new workflow here and see what is working and not.
