For sure, if you can figure it out with the resources that are available out there and are willing to take the time to do so, I'd recommend that. I definitely don't have a monopoly on teaching materials. @Ethraiel 's 5-video mini-series would make for a decent module in the middle of my first course, so in the meantime, I'd recommend looking at that once you've gotten the basics of HTML/CSS/JS down.
I've written in C, C++, C#, Java, Javascript, Visual Basic, Lua, ASP.NET, a couple of software-specific languages, etc. But after all this time, I've never written a single line of Python code. I've got some courses on Python wishlisted though, and I've peeked at the source of a few Python scripts I use for downloading videos. I think it's interesting how indentation actually influences the code structure.
Well, Course 2 isn't set in stone since Course 1 still isn't even 100% complete yet. Teaching people to code (and making it as foolproof as possible) is a huge undertaking. But the general plan right now is to cover all of the HTML5 APIs that have a reasonable direct application to mTurk, as well as all of the GM_ Tampermonkey APIs.
Tentatively ~$10/ea. I might offer a bundle for all 3 together with some discount. It really depends on interest level, how piracy impacts sales, etc. But each should provide pretty good bang for the buck. Think Udemy's "sale" (aka "usual"... lol) prices.
It's really just shorthand for C++ but written in common language. So the code looks more familiar thus easier to learn. My problem is having so many in my head I lose the ability to cross reference them. And when i'm having issues with any one of them (i'm looking at you Smoothieware) it becomes impossible to retain new data. Add the hours I put in turking, the day job, and life in general, aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh. This switchover hasn't really phased me, I needed a slight break. Now i'm excited to start programming again and am interested in what you have to say. Here's a couple things I have that may or may not interest you.
I appreciate your effort, but I cant help to wonder if your time wouldn't be put to a more lucrative use by simply working on batches. If you make all these courses and dont sell a ton of them you'll make less cash than you would if you just put in an 8-10 day turking, IMO.
The whole split in the Python community between 2.7 and 3+ and the break in backward compatibility has been a deterrent for me as well. I don't really have any particular reason to jump into Python at this time, so if I'm doing it just to satisfy my curiosity or add a new skill to the tool-case, I'd rather wait until that situation settles down a bit more.
The same could be said for @Kadauchi working on MTS for free, @Ethraiel working on Overwatch for free, etc. Between my time and the money I've spent on recording equipment, it's extremely unlikely that I'll turn a profit from this. I'm just asking for remuneration to recoup some of the costs.
I've seen a lot of dudes from 3rd-world countries sharing P2P links for the bottom two in a lot of the Facebook groups I'm in. Lol.
ugh.... I like interactive courses, where people can work on there projects together. Will you ever offer that, or we talking a generic set up

I like some of the lynda movies you've previously mentioned. I wouldn't describe them as a home run, but definitely a solid double. Hopefully you can top them.
I've tossed around the idea of tutoring with some people who have PM'd me, but I honestly have no idea how I'd structure that. Haven't thought it through much. My own learning with web programming has been accelerated because of my past programming experience, but I've still been writing web code for less than a year. @Kadauchi has been writing web code for longer than me, for example, so there are people here who have more intricate knowledge of various APIs that I don't. Structuring as a downloadable course makes it easier for me to restrict my teaching to the things that I actually have a teachable understanding of.
