Well, the quote above where it was "I don't like NASCAR, I like F1 because they turn left AND right".

It's a tired meme. I was on it years ago. I was just pointing out American motorsports are fantastic, and NASCAR is a great motorsport. Image is not good if you're into image. If you're into racing, you can't argue NASCAR is not good because it is. I'm not demanding people like it... just sayin.

Yeah SCCA continues to be great but I find it's hard to follow. IF I had a car I would autocross right now, we have a local and they're great, and a great local track that hasn't been paid attention to outside the county for decades. It's twisty-turny uphill and down with potholes and gravel  What more can you ask for?

In Autocross, a 1976 Pontiac Bonneville with a 455 is just as good as a Ferrari, and I won't listen to otherwise.

It is. You may have provided reasons for why you have that opinion, but it's an opinion nonetheless. I also enjoy NASCAR from time to time.

Not gonna lie. I like watching people race all kinds of stuff. Bicycles, motorcycles, dirtbikes, potato sack races, hamburger pickles down windows, etc... But Nascar is super lame. IN MY OPINION

The only time when I enjoy Nascar is when I'm hanging out with folks who work for the shitty teams, get rekt drunk, and eat giant turkey legs.

I've heard every possible explanation of why baseball is an American icon, a game of skill, the best sport ever, etc...

But all I see are a bunch of juiceheads hitting a ball with a stick for hours on end in the most boring way possible. Even the big plays are like "DID YOU SEE THAT GUY RUN REAL FAST AND CATCH THAT BALL?"

Give me my football/hockey/soccer/basketball and I'm a happy man.

NASCAR is a great motorsport. That's not an opinion, that's an observation.
Now, liking or not liking it is an opinion. But being a premier motorsport doesn't care if you like it or not.
    Huge fan involvement.
    Big money.
    Manufacturer involvement.
Dynamic racing (which is what passes are about, as one example I won't go into others).

NASCAR is one of the great World Motorsports whether people want to like it or not. And since it's a meme to hate on it, I feel it is my duty to point out that people who dismiss it are expressing an opnion, whereas I am not when I observe it is a great form of racing.

99 times out of 100, people who say "I hate NASCAR" are Fast and Furious fans who have never changed oil.

Whether you are or not, not really my discussion, I don't do ad hominem on this board.

I love F1, WRC, I stayed up late to watch Group B coverage at 3am back in the 80s. 99/100 people who claim to love rally and love Group B didn't know it existed until Top Gear came to the US.

Isle of Mann TT is the last true Big Motorsport left, what there is of it left, but NASCAR remains a great form of racing. And that's not an opinion.

I don't really care for it, truth be told. I haven't watched since Mark Martin retired.

PE: Matt and I went shopping for shoes (for him) and an armchair (for me) and we almost killed each other...we bought 0 shoes and I ended up getting an armchair I liked offline instead, after we argued about it some more and Matt finally hurled his credit card at me (it's a christmas gift, since we left my love seat behind in Georgia).

I also forgot to make a meal plan or list, so I wandered around the store and bought LITERALLY 8 types of cheese today.

List of cheese: Red cheddar, Fontina, Gruyere, smoked gouda, wisconsin cheddar, drunken red wine goat cheese, ricotta, fresh mozarella, and cream cheese. Oh shit, that's 9.

I bought 9 types of cheese today folks. Also 3 whole chickens and 12 oz of pancetta and iberico ham. Why? CAUSE THAT'S WHY!

    How about this.
Fast and Furiousers watch Drifting today like it's some revelation. I particularly like when Drifters think they're awesome welding rear carriers, like it's some cool hack they invented.
On any given summer night in the US, there are probably 1000 dirt-track and Outlaw racers with anywhere from 90 to 1200hp machines drifting it in a mad, Left Turn, dash that would give Tokyo Hiroki post-traumatic stress disorder. I mean, cars where they tie the helmet to the rollcage because not even Lewis Hamilton could keep his head off his shoulder.
That said, I love Japanese cars.
But this ideal of hating something to prove you are something, not saying you just saying, I find philistine in the extreme.

Hell, Figure 8 is one of the great motorsports IMO. I challenge anyone to drink a 6 pack at a Figure 8 and not have the time of their lives.
