It's far from universal and I didn't bother to use anything more sophisticated than a timeout since I was writing the script while actually working the batch.

Eh, the dude worked in Russia for like 5 years as a consultant engineer? They've been married for a few years already, he just moved back to the US first.

My birb radar is always up just in case, but I think it's mostly just a case of awkward dude finds love abroad cause things just worked out a bit better for him there. He's nice, but socially inept. I like him! But, I can see him having a hard time with women and probably coming off as more of a catch where he was living. I really want everything to turn out well because he's a nice dude and I like it when good things happen to nice dudes.

 

I mean, he was a drill sergeant and he openly talked about how all the negativity and anger made him never want to scream at people again.

That's honestly more or less what happened with Chris and I (uh oh, using the real name, let confusion ensue ). After we split up he was seeing someone else and eventually moved out for a while to move in with her. Then he realized how much he missed someone who could cook something other than really bad grilled cheese, and had adult priorities, and actually know how to do adult things like pay bills. That's why I was screwing up my surveys this morning! I was having happy little accidents!

 

I 100% believe that's just who he was. He had faced a lot and I think that's just how he dealt with it. But when I was living by myself for a while my anxiety went through the roof because I can't handle being in a house alone at night, and playing him on Netflix was the only way I could get myself to sleep. His voice and just his general demeanor is so fucking soothing.
